Our Favourite Cork Fitouts

This month, we’re taking a look back at some of our favourite furniture fitouts in Cork. As a company who have been trading since 1973, we of course have helped many companies in the southern region to ‘work happy’ over the years. However, in 2017 we went a step further and set up a Cork office - first in City Gate, Mahon and the following year in Northpoint Business Park on the New Mallow Road. This move allowed us to develop our bespoke showroom offering which has attracted visitors from all commercial endeavours ever since. There is something to see for architects, contractors, developers, facilities buyers, health & safety officers and ergonomic assessors alike. Over the last couple of years we have been very proud to install office furniture and facilitate workplace fitouts across the city and county. Below are just a selection of our favourites.

Cork Chamber

Among the first companies to embrace our presence in the city and county was Cork Chamber. Our Business Development Manager for Cork, Dave McCarthy met with Naoimh from the chamber and got to work on realising their vision for a new office space at Fitzgerald House in the Victorian Quarter. This was a very interesting project as we wanted to fulfil the needs of a modern working office while also paying respects to the heritage of the Victorian Fitzgerald House. After the outlined drawings were agreed, we produced 3D renders to help visualise the new spaces. The brief for the open plan environment was to introduce extra positions and incorporate Sit/Stand 'Hot Desks' on each floor. For the meeting room, we needed to increase capacity and continue the flow from the Open Plan office. Dave collaborated with Naoimh to select product, colours and fabric finishes and upon completion she said: “The quality of the product along with the care and attention to detail [OfficeMaster] have ensures we will most definitely use them again”. MBC Insurance

The fitout at MBC Insurance & MBC Financial in Cork Airport Business Park, Rathmacullig West, was a very rewarding project for Corkman Dave McCarthy. It was a chance to work with a great client at the earliest available opportunity of the fitout. As Des Murphy, MD of MBC Insurance put it: “Our offices needed a complete revamp from furniture, to flooring, lighting, and interior design. Dave from OfficeMaster came up with a plan very quickly and we knew we had chosen the right provider from our first meeting”. Dave and the MBC team worked together, along with an interior architect, to create an inviting open plan office with on-trend finishes and colours throughout. Enable Ireland

Enable Ireland has provided disability services in Cork for over 60 years. Enable Ireland is the lead agency for three of the ten Children’s Disability Network Teams in the county and they are located at the Lavanagh Centre in Curraheen. In 2019 we were delighted to be asked to help them fitout their new flagship centre. There were many elements involved in this installation like desking, seating, storage, meeting room furniture, breakout areas and a canteen area. The large meeting/training room fitout is extra special as the tables which have castors to allow for customisation of the arrangement. Ideal for the post-Covid return to the space, as the furniture can now be moved around according to who needs the room and how many people will be using it. Director of Services for Enable, Niall Horgan said: “Great care was taken by OfficeMaster in specifying suitable furniture and finishes. All items arrived on time and were built in a very efficient manner… a great service”. Fitzgeralds Insurances

The work completed with Fitzgeralds Insurances in Kanturk is again, a project we are very proud of. This was another blank canvas that Dave McCarthy was delighted to sink his teeth into along with the client Kieran Fitzgerald. Kieran says: “Once we got Dave from OfficeMaster involved with us everything became easier. From working on the layout, to the colour of the office furniture and fittings - everything was dealt with. Dave became the vital part of the move and everything was looked after expertly”. An interesting project and not just because of the standout Z2 reception desk and sit stand desking we installed. There are other wonderful elements such as the glass partitioning, integrated stone walls and unique design painted on the back wall. Horizon Energy Group

Horizon Energy Group help businesses in Ireland and the UK to measure, monitor and reduce their energy cost, consumption and carbon footprint. We were tasked by Horizon Energy Group to revamp their office environment in Rathmacullig West, Co. Cork, with a fitout that would see the old beech desking and basic office chairs be a thing of the past. In its place, we installed modern white bench desking with a light grey frame and privacy screens to match. Also in this fitout were multi-purpose circular tables, a meeting room and desk-end storage as well as a row of lockers that allow for storage, act as a room divider and had space for plants on top. As Dermot Cullen, Sales Director for Horizon put it: “We have all-new desking, seating and storage as well as a spacious meeting room and decorative plants to provide a vibrant and refreshing workspace. Our new office offers us many solutions and we’re sure our clients will love the space as much as we do”. Thanks again to Dermot for collaborating with us on this project.
