Long-standing Waterford company OfficeMaster hosted the October edition of Waterford Chamber’s ‘Business After-Hours’. Held at the showroom above the retail store at 93 Meaghers Quay, a large number of the business community came together for the networking event. With Declan Brady of World Wide Wines serving refreshments, there was a fabulously festive atmosphere. New Chamber President Kevin Doolin opened proceedings. He joked that OfficeMaster “were a ‘staple’ of the local business scene”, playing on their 51 years as stationery providers in the city. Next to speak was David Cooke, commercial director and co-owner of OfficeMaster, who in turn introduced guest speaker Trevor Darmody, co-director of Winterval.
Trevor spoke to attendees about the impact Winterval has had, bringing 650,000 visitors to the region and generating a windfall of 14m to the local economy. He also spoke about the exciting new additions to the festival programme for 2024, such as ‘Big Top Live’ and Waterford being granted ‘European City of Christmas’. Attendees were also granted a sneak-peek at OfficeMaster’s new ‘Santa Claus’, a life-size animatronic of the man himself who will provide some competition for ‘Charlie Chaplin’ in their Christmas window!
